Kon-nichiwa. (Hello!)

Welcome to the home page of U.S. Kobudo Club!

Kobudo Club is an organization of college students and young professionals who dedicate themselves to the study of the traditional martial arts of Japan (ko-budo). Members meet several times a week to train, discuss Japanese history and culture, and socialize.

The first Kobudo Club training group was formed at Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI) in 2002. Within two years, four more groups were formed at other universities in the Midwest. We welcome inquiries from serious students of kobudo who may be interested in starting a training group at their school.

Kobudo Club co-sponsors several regional and international seminars each year, featuring world-renowned kobudo masters. The photo at right was taken on July 16, 2006, the last day of an international seminar that featured Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura.

Kobudo Club is affiliated with the Genbukan World Ninpo Bugei Federation (GWNBF) and Kokusai Jujutsu Renmei (KJJR), international organizations dedicated to teaching the ancient Japanese martial arts in a traditional manner. U.S. Kobudo Club is an official GWNBF-KJJR dojo.

To learn more about us, you are invited to come in and browse around. You will find information about Club activities, membership, instructors, training schedules, etiquette, and international affiliation.

Arigato gozaimashita. Thank you for visiting, and come back again!
