Kokusai Renmei

International Affiliation

U.S. Kobudo Club is an official dojo of the Kokusai Jujutsu Renmei Federation (KJJR)kokusaipatch. The KJJR was established by Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura in 1991 for the preservation and transmission of authentic Japanese Jujutsu. Unfortunately today, very few Jujutsu schools outside of Japan practice what could be considered authentic Jujutsu. Having lost the connection with their Japanese roots, these schools have evolved into eclectic sport-arts. The purpose of the KJJR is to make training available to those who seek traditional Jujutsu.

The KJJR is international in scope, with training centers in more than twenty foreign countries as well as in Japan, where Grandmaster Tanemura maintains his Genbukan Dojo. Visit the Genbukan on the web, at www.genbukan.org.

Kobudo Club members may earn Kyu-level certificates in KJJR Jujutsu, Genbukan Taijutsu, Kukishin Ryu Bojutsu, and Tanemura Ryu Bikenjutsu. Beyond this, students may continue their training at the Futen Dojo, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, or any other official Genbukan/Kokusai dojo located near their home.

Regional Affiliation

Within the Midwest region of the United States, Kobudo Club is affiliated with Futen Dojo, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Michael Coleman, kyoshi (master instructor) and shibu-cho (regional director).
